The Model Hobbies Program at French Woods is unique to all of camping. It includes model railroading, slot car racing and model rocketry.
Collecting, building and operating model trains is a hobby deeply rooted in the past yet packed with all the cutting-edge technological excitement of the 21st Century. The French Woods Junction provides a massive layout. Six operating, interactive layouts in O Scale feature an array of accessories and extensive scenery. Campers develop new buildings and roadways each season.
Or, take a spot at the controls on our slot car track. Speed around the roadway to race other campers and perfect your driving skills.
Then head to the skies and beyond as you build and launch your rockets to the sky. Model building at its finest as the projectiles launch skyward and parachute back down... if you build them right, you can recover them and launch them again.
